Narrative Escapes is for those who value quiet reflection over constant noise, and depth over speed.

The Narrative Escapes publication covers this through two lenses:

  • Internal Reflection: Practical thoughts and reflective essays on transitions, questioning established narratives, life perspectives and experiences and frameworks to view the world.

  • External Exploration: Travel and how it’s an instrument for getting perspective, processing your narrative in life and maybe some strange observations. A way to seek clarity via peace, not postcards.

If you are navigating a transition, stepping off the productivity treadmill, or simply looking to make sense of and author your own story, I guess it bundles up into here.

There are also the Field Notes, but that content is very ‘inside baseball’ for those on the YouTube channel.

Do you have a paywall?

There is a paywall, but keep in mind the Paywall largely works as part of my YouTube workflow in the following ways: -

  1. A core part of the Internal Reflect content is the articles that become videos, and as such they move through a workflow that takes about a month to come out from under the paywall, but they will. If you want the content early, either from a YouTube or Substack perspective, that’s the paywall.

  2. The field notes content will always be behind the paywall, as it’s going to be scrappy, a bit inside baseball, and largely for people who watch the videos. If you’re on Substack only, I’d not worry about it.

Right now, I am seeing where I go with the External Explore content, so we’ll work that out as we go, which means no initial paywall. Some articles also won’t impact the paywall for Internal Reflect, but that's contextual, not a commitment.
